How parents take part in the setting
The staff at Little Rascals recognises that parents are the child's first and most important educator. All the staff see themselves as partners working with parents in providing the best care and education for their children.
There are many ways parents can contribute to the setting such as:
Exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress.
Contributing to the 2 Year Progress Check
Being part of the management committee
Accompanying their children on outings led by the staff
Attending parents' evenings and open days held at the setting
Building friendships with other parents who use the setting
Snacks and lunch
Little Rascals ensures that snack and lunch times are a social time where children and staff sit together.
We provide healthy and nutritious snacks with water available throughout the day. We also take into account any specific dietary needs.
The children are offered cereal or toast for breakfast and we then and mid afternoon snacks all week. These are free of charge
Please speak to Kerry or a member of staff regarding allergens.
Learning and development
Little Rascals follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to ensure the learning and development of the children.
We reflect the 4 principles of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
A Unique Child:
Each child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable and self-assured.
Positive Relationship:
Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships
Enabling Environments:
Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and carers
Learning and Development:
Children develop and learn in different ways. The framework covers the education of all children in the early years environment, including children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities
